I havent done many outdoor activities and i am still a rookie climber it could be a shame to have an accident on my first real outdoor climb. Thanks for that post.

I’ve been using a Petzl Corax for a few years now and I’ve often wondered why the “always double-backed” buckle system didn’t simply become a standard for all the manufacturers. It’s just one less thing for me to think about before starting up a climb. Habit still has me checking the buckle, but the fact that I can’t screw it up regardless of how tired I am is a huge selling point for me.

Thats pretty sketchy. Petzl had the idea right when they made their quicklock buckles impossible to unlock. At least there have been no accidents (i hope).
