But what I found most surprising was the fact that is was presented by the American Alpine Club. Who knew that an organization of what is thought to be old dudes climbing big peaks was affiliated with bouldering. Pretty cool.

Perhaps publishing the list online would be a good compromise between trying not to make the film “too Colorado” and also letting us know where to go to attempt some of those killer looking problems.

I think the movie could have also benefited from focusing a bit more on the audio of the climbers themselves, rather than the soundtrack. There are a few key moments where fading out the music and turning up the breathing of the climbers (who were all mic’d) would have added immensely to the tension and suspense. With the pumping soundtrack, sometimes it was hard to tell if they were even nervous at all!
