In my quest for some local bouldering here in Blacksburg, I went to check out the boulders at Mountain Lake, Virginia (yes, from Dirty Dancing<\/a> fame) which is only about 20-25 minutes away. From RockClimbing.com, I found this section describing the bouldering<\/a>. I found quite a few decent sized boulders there, but they were all covered in lichen and\/or moss. I found one problem worth doing and it was probably around V4. That was about it though. Everything else looked unclimbable and I saw no traces of any problems being cleaned or established. Maybe its the summertime… ? If anyone has any additional beta on this area, please let me know.
